Artist statement:
From the moment I viewed a show by Pierre Bonnard at The Centre Pompidou in Paris I knew I wanted to create art that would put my emotions on the canvas with brilliant color and textures. Throughout this journey of exploration I have tried not to limit how I create, constantly trying new ways to make the canvas into an interactive and expansive medium. Birds somehow permeate my work in their representation of freedom, joy and spirituality. Each canvas is an experiment and an awakening while being grounded on this earth yet allowing the mind to soar.

"French Birds"
Acrylic on canvas. 30" x 40" This painting is my reaction to the Paris attacks at the Bataclan theatre in November 2015 where 130 people were massacred. One person was quoted as saying, "They were shooting at us like if we were birds" That stuck in my head and this is the result. $400.
